No Kiss Blogfest!!!!!!!

--SO it appears that Mr. Linky is down at the moment...AAAH! Hopefully this problem will be corrected before the day is over, but in the meantime comment below on my No Kiss and make sure you let us know if you have one posted too so we can visit you. I'm so sorry! But I'm determined not to let technical difficulties get in the way of our fest! And if Mr. Linky is back...then just ignore this, Ill delete this section when its fixed. On with my post-- Mr. Linky is back up and running! Hooray!

I am SO excited that the No Kiss Blogfest is here!! Almost kisses are some of my faves and I can't wait to go blog hopping and read everyone else's today.

So here's the deal with my No-Kiss.

This scene is taken from my WIP slightly altered for this fest. My MC LILLIANA, a 16 year old mage without magic power is training to be a knight at her family's school for Mages and Knights. She has fallen in love with her trainer, RYAN, despite the fact that a relationship betweem them is completely forbidden. They're meeting up in their own private gym room to...discuss somethings.... Enjoy!

Sorry-Snippet removed from internet 2/14/10--thank you for all of the comments!

Ok I hope you liked, can't wait to hear what you think:-) Off to go read more almost kiss scenes to get my heart pounding.

The fest runs all day so if you haven't signed up yet, check out my Mr. Linky at the link above this post--and don't forget to visit all of the other no-kisses. My huge 6 ARC giveaway is also linked above.

And...if you want to suggest which scene from Clueless I should act out, follow the link and let me know:-)

Happy No Kiss Blogfest!!!

  3. I especially love the use of flashback at the end of the scene and the love vs. honor conflict. Tense and delicious!

  7. Terrific scene, Frankie! So much emotion. Most revealing line for me: "I waited for another lie to escape from his lips." Makes me want to know exactly why Lil feels this way and what kind of person Ryan really is. I'm kind of embarrassed to leave a link to mine because it's so low-key, but here it is.

  8. Awesome, Frankie. You create such tension between them and I love how Ryan is trying to protect her. The moment of the almost-kiss rocked! Thanks so much for doing the blogfest.

  9. I like it! Tense, tense, and more tense! Would I be wrong in thinking that this scene is the whole reason you came up with No-Kiss Blogfest in the first place? It's a good one. :)

But I would have had him say, "Bye," as the door shut behind him. That's the only thing this scene was missing. :)

You've already seen mine, but for those who haven't and might be interested in a non-romantic version of the almost-kiss, pop on over and visit me here.

  10. Wowza! Love the scene! I think it takes a lot of talent to tell the reader they are not going to kiss but do such a good job of telling the story that the reader still thinks there's a chance that they might lol.

  11. Love it! Especially since I know the characters. Yum!

I completely forgot about no kiss blog fest. This weekend just keeps speeding by! UGH!!!!

  15. Ooo, you went with one of my favorite scenes *snickers at all the other poor souls who haven't gotten to read your draft*

I actually like it this way too. The changes are subtle but they do change the feel. Me like. But I like the other way too. So whichever way you go I'm happy with.

Okay, off to blog hop through a ton of sexual tension. This is SO much fun. (And in case Mr Linky goes down again, here's the link to my post:)

  46. I loved the opening imagery with dust particles floating in sunlight--it's one of my most favorite moments to happen upon in real life, it always makes me feel peaceful...

I really like that Ryan tried so hard to lie to her to make it easier.

I sooooooooo want to read your book! I'm super, duper jealous of Shannon... Jeez and she even gets to brag about it...

  48. Frankie,

Wow - this scene played like a movie reel in my head. I didn't have to think about what I was reading or interpret any turn of phrase. I like reading material that doesn't require much effort! LOL! My favorite line: "his eyes looked like a storm over the sea"
