Announcing: The YA Philly Book Club

So excited to announce that I have joined forces with the uber fabulous K.M. Walton, author of CRACKED to form a YA book club in Philly!

The Plan: The last Sunday of the month, we'll meet in a different bookstore, discuss a different book, and basically have a blast.

Who Can Come: Anyone and everyone is welcome to attend. Writers, bloggers, non-writers, non-bloggers. You just have to want to read YA, want to talk about it...and, well...you kind of need to live near Philly.

When: Our FIRST meeting will take place on Sunday, March 25th at 4:30PM in the Chester County Book and Music Company, one of our favorite indies!

How: If you want to come (please come, I want you to come) then shoot me an email, and nominate a book to read. Every month we'll take book nominations, and let the book club vote on a read (all books must be in print--no arcs, and no out of print treasures).

So I am super super excited about this! Also, I've created an Events Tab that you should check out so you can stay up to date on all the cool things happening :-)

UPDATE: We have book nominations for our first meeting.
1. John Green, THE FAULT IN OUR STARS (2 nominations)
2. Stephanie Perkins, LOLA AND THE BOY NEXT DOOR
3. Maggie Stiefvater, THE SCORPIO RACES
4. Jennifer Donnelly, REVOLUTION

  2. I won't be able to make the first meeting, but add me to the mailing list for future meetings. This is a great idea!

  3. I'll join in when I can. I mean, you're going to need at least ONE guy's perspective....and one carnivore, too.

  4. Chester County is just a bit too far for me, but I also would like to be on the mailing list for future meetings :)

    1. Yan, YAY!!! Totally understand about WC. We'll be making the rounds trying to get to as many bookstores as we can. So hopefully the next meeting works better for you:)

  5. I absolutely want to join, but I'll only be able to attend on days when we meet near a Septa line (unless there's someone who lives near a Septa line I can meet up with halfway or something).

    *lives near Neshaminy Mall

  6. Ok, we'll keep that in mind. I'm pretty sure we'll be able to get you to this one though! And we'll definitely have one meeting at Neshaminy.

    1. That will be so weird, lol! ^.~

But yeah, this is why I can't get to some of the further events most of the time. It kind of sucks, but *shrug*
