My Latest Inspiration

As a writing professor who gets to work at Arcadia University, one of the benefits of my job is THE CASTLE!
Good morning, Castle!
Every morning when I drive in, I go right past a big, old fashioned, real, live castle. And it makes me smile every time.
These staircases have led to so many ideas...
But the other cool thing is not only do I get to drive by the castle, I get to go inside and explore and get inspiration for my stories.

I've used the staircase for another story and included bits and pieces of the castle's architecture for other things. But with my current WIP, the castle as a whole has suddenly become important to me.

This is a view of the staircase from the 3rd floor.

I LOVE how the light turned out in all of these pictures. Like there's something a little more than meets the eye going on. Which if you know me, suits me perfectly.

Something supernatural is happening...

The style of these rooms was inspired by Louis XV

Yeah, Knight here! You cannot have a castle without one of me standing guard.

So needless to say, my current WIP involves a castle that is not exactly what it appears to be on the outside. And...that's all I'm going to say about it.

Also I've had a few requests from people to do a further explanation on plotlining. So I'm working on a blog post for you guys that hopefully makes sense of it and is helpful.

Happy Writing! I hope you're all feeling inspired!

P.S. You can hang out in the castle Tuesday, October 23 at 5PM with Amy Garvey, E.C. Myers, Jeri Smith-Ready, Maria V. Snyder and K.M. Walton at my YA Panel Event!
